What is latin jazz musician puente?

Tito Puente (1923-2000) was a Latin Jazz musician and composer. Born in New York City to Puerto Rican parents, Puente grew up in a musical family and began playing the piano at a young age. He later switched to the vibraphone and became known for his innovative fusion of Latin rhythms with jazz.

Puente began his professional career in the 1940s and went on to release over 100 albums. He played with many notable musicians, including Dizzy Gillespie, Machito, and Celia Cruz, and was a frequent performer at the Palladium Ballroom in New York City.

Puente was revered for his ability to fuse traditional Latin rhythms with the improvisation and freedom of jazz, creating a sound that was both danceable and intellectually stimulating. He won five Grammy Awards over his career, and was known as the "King of Latin Music" and the "Mambo King".

Puente passed away in 2000, but his influence on Latin Jazz and music as a whole continues to be felt today.
